ASEAN Webinar - Workshop on Writing a Good Essay and Journalistic Article

On the 28th of November, I listened to an ASEAN Webinar which was about Writing a Good Essay and Journalistic Article. I guess it's clear what is was about. It also told us the story of Randy Mulyanto, who is a journalist from Indonesia. He told us some tips and tricks about how to make your essay and journal better and a lot more interesting. I actually really do wanna get better at writing and stuff, so I paid extra attention to everything.

Here's what I got (๑•﹏•)

1. Research
He told us that the First Step was to do Research first. In this part, we were told to find all of the important facts about what we are going to write about. It's basically one of the most important things.

2. Structure
Structure is also really important, you have to go in order like A-B-C, starting from 'Opening' and so on.

3. Searching for data
It's important that when we go searching for information, we should go to famous sites, which makes sure that the information are real facts, but you should never copy and paste too. It would be better if you wrote everything in your own words, or maybe add a little bit of reference inside it.

4. Writing
Here comes the hard part. First of all, you should try to follow all the rules. If you were told to write something with 800 words, you should do that, and not send something that has around 2.000 words. If there was a mistake, you can easily rewrite it later. Just be confident and do your best here. From little bits of information, try to make it a bit longer, trust me, it helps. You should also make your words clear here, so people can easily understand what you are trying to tell them.

5. Editing
The most important thing here is that you pay attention to the grammar. Never forget to use capital letters, full stops and of course, double check and tripple check your spelling. Another good thing you should do is that you should show your writing or journal to a friend or family and ask about their opinions before submitting it.

Basically, in short, that's it.
I wanna thank them so much for these tips. Personally I think they were really helpful, and I feel like it could help me in the future.

Cool! - Michael Morpurgo

It all started with a bright, sunny day. While Robbie was just laying in his bed, he heard his mother shout from the kitchen. "Robbie! Go take Lucky outside for a walk!" He wasted no time and quickly went outside while holding Lucky's leash.

It was fine for a bit, when Lucky suddenly went crazy and ran towards the road. Robbie tried to run after him, went suddenly everything went black.

☆゚.*・。゚

Fast forward, Robbie was now in the hospital. He could hear and feel everything, his parents crying, his sister jumping on his bed and so on, but he couldn't see, move or talk. He wanted so bad to tell his parents not to cry and that he was feeling just fine.

Days, weeks, months passed but Robbie never did wake up. His parents seperated, and never came together to meet him. It was only either just his mom alone, or his dad alone.

One day, his homeroom teacher came to visit and she brought a tape with her. It was a voice recording of Robbie's classmates telling him how much they loved him and hoped that he will finally wake up, but it was no use. Robbie did feel warm and happy, but he still couldn't wake up. He wanted to wake up, he really did, but he just couldn't.

☆゚.*・。゚

It was getting close to Robbie's birthday and his parents organised something very special for him. The news quickly spread that Zola, a famous footballer, and Robbie's favorite player, was going to visit Robbie for his birthday.

There was a bit of chitter chatter around Robbie's room when suddenly, a soft but stern voice said, "Hey Robbie, It's me. It's Zola. I came to see you, because I want you to wake up for your mom and dad. You want to wake up for them? For me?"

'Yes! I want to wake up!' Cried Robbie inside. He wanted to scream, but he couldn't. The doctors said that he might be able to wake up if he touched or met something or someone he liked. Trust me, he really did adore Zola, but no one knew why he didn't wake up. Zola then said he had to go and train, which is why he left Robbie. Even so, Zola decided to bring his jersey that day and happily gave it to Robbie.

Robbie then felt that he could talk to Stacy, his personal nurse through his head. After he got his bath with the help of Stacy, he said in his mind 'Stacy, please put Zola's jersey on me' over and over again. He was about to give up and stop when suddenly, he could feel that Stacy was changing his clothes. It worked! He shouted in his mind.

A lot of people thought of giving up, but his parents didn't. When people thought that nothing would help him wake up, his parents told him that they decided to get back together, which of course made Robbie very happy, but he still didn't wake up.

Days passed, when Robbie's parents came to visit him again, this time with his little sister and Lucky, their pet dog. Yep, you guessed it. Lucky didn't die, I think he just got hurt a little bit. Once Lucky saw Robbie, he immediately ran and jumped on top of Robbie while licking his face with no mercy.

Robbie was in a state of euphoria. He was so happy that Lucky didn't actually die. He tried, tried and kept trying to open his eyes, when suddenly his world wasn't just black. He could see Lucky, his parents, his little sister and even Stacy.

It's amazing. Because of Lucky, he was able to wake up. He then remembered that Zola told him if he wakes up, he would be able to train with Zola and get free tickets to see their game. And of course Zola didn't break his promise.

Robbie was glad to be back. ☆゚.*・。゚

In my opinion, this book is really cool. It teaches us that we shouldn't give up, cuz at the last minute, something will make everything perfect again. This book is literally so soft and cute. ( ꈍᴗꈍ)

NARNIA: The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe

This story is about Peter, Susan, Edmund and Lucy and what happened to them when they were sent away from London. ☆゚.*・。゚

It was just a fine sunny day, when the four decided to play Hide and Seek. "Ready or not~" sang one of the four. The rest of them quickly found a place to hide and tried their best not to get caught. Lucy, the littlest, decided to hide in a wardrobe.

A few minutes later, Lucy realized that she was standing on white snow. Honestly, she wouldn't have noticed it if it wasn't for the cold wind that angrily blew itself towards her. She shivered in coldness and finally decided to go into the forest that had snow overlaying every tree.

She went on quite a long journey before meeting a gentle fawn. The Fawn looked at her in confusion before quietly spurting out "W-wait, are you a human?" Lucy nodded slowly while confusing took over her face. "We have to get you out of here!" whispered the Fawn. Once they got to the Fawn's house, he quickly introduced himself as Tumnus.

Tumnus then told Lucy about the Witch. The Witch was very, very evil he said. She would turn the people that went against her into stone and the moment, she was searching for a human to turn into stone for a new part of the collection. After he told Lucy about the Witch, he told her to go back to 'Human Land' by going through a portal. The portal kept moving around, but fortunately, Tumnus knew about its schedule and walked Lucy to portal.

☆゚.*・。゚

Once Lucy stepped out of the Wardrobe, she ran into the living room panting. She then told the others about what she saw. The Forest, Mr. Tumnus and about the White Witch.

Yea, no one belived her. They even took her to a doctor. The doctor stayed netral, he told them that of course they didn't belive Lucy, they haven't even been there! He also said that maybe in that other dimension that Lucy stated, time worked differently there. It could be days, months and even years there but it would just be a few minutes here.

So the next day, they went into the Wardrobe with Lucy. First time they did it, nothing happened and Edmund was spurting out things like "Lies" and stuff that made Lucy cry. Then the next day, they did it. They finally came to Narnia, the forest that was enveloped in snow all over. But of course, news spread quickly here in Narnia. The White Which had known that there were humans here in Narnia, so she decided to find those humans. Lucy hadn't known what the Witch looked like, so she greeted the Witch kindly. The Witch offered the four some Turkish Delights. Edmund was the one who ate most of it, to be honest. Soon enough, the Witch took a liking to him and whispered in his ear, "Would you like some more? Come to my castle tomorrow and I'll give you as much as you'd like." Edmund being Edmund, he nodded dumbly without thinking twice.

A few moments after meeting the Witch, the four were walking around, not really having anywhere to go when suddenly an old, gentle looking beaver came stumbling towards them, saying that he was told to bring the four to his house by Tumnus so that they'd be protected.

Mr. Beaver then took the four to his house and told them to settle in and act as if it's their own house. They didn't keep an eye for Edmund and soon realized, he was gone. As you might've guessed, yes. Edmund being hungry for Turkish Delights decided to go to the White Witch's castle but to his dismay, once he got there he didn't get any Turkish Delights. The only thing he got was getting turned into a stone with no hope of coming back to life.

Mr. Beaver and the rest was frantically searching for Edmund, then he realized. "He must've gone to the Witch's castle." He said quietly. So yea, long story short, Mr. Beaver, Mrs. Beaver and the rest decided to quickly pack up and find another place to stay which hopefully the Witch wouldn't find.

Once they settled in a new cozy burrow, the quickly made up a plan to go and search for Aslan, the Lion that was supposed to be the rightful king and ruler of Narnia.
They never did give up, even when there was no sign of Aslan, but once they were about to give up, he showed up. Aslan showed up right in front of them with his shining, glowing mane. They told Aslan about the Witch, the whole turning into stone thingy and the fact that Narnia was enveloped in snow all over.

He didn't waste any time and quickly made an army. The army consisted of Angels, Horses, Giants and other things that you wouldn't belive exist. He told the White Witch to come to the round table which was located right in the middle of Narnia to have a 1 v 1 duel. The Witch got weaker as Aslan came, but she tried to seem powerful in front of everyone else. Long story short, Aslan and his army won of course.

The Witch, of course was banned and thrown away from Narnia along with her servants. Aslan then walked around Narnia and found a table with a few beavers, squirrels and a few others that were cold stone. He wasted no time, and quickly brought them back to life. He also didn't forget to go to the castle and bring back Edmund and others such as Mr. Tumnus back to life. Santa even stopped by! He said Narnia had this weird shield that didn't let him and his reindeers go in, but after Aslan defeated the Witch, that shield thingy soon disappeared.

☆゚.*・。゚

A few days after those events, Aslan usted the four enough and decided to make them kings, rulers od Narnia, with Peter as the high king because he cared very much about the rest of them and even went out of his way to help others in need.

☆゚.*・。゚

//
Honestly, this was such a good book in my opinion. It made me go through a rollercoaster of emotions. I'd read this book again if I could hehe. I wish Narnia was real, it would be amazing to spend even just 1 second there.

My New Headphone

Yesterday night, my dad asked what my brother wanted to buy. He gave him some choices, but it actually took my brother a really long time to choose what he wanted to buy. He even told me to come into the bedroom to help him choose but I literally did not help at all because I also didn't know what to choose for him. ヽ༼⁰o⁰;༽ノ

After he found what he wanted, that was headphones by the way, we set out right away to buy his new headphones.

We then finally arrived at a shop that sells the headphone that we wanted. We were searching for Bluetooth headphones so we could take them everywhere without the wires getting tangled all the time.
We found one that actually changes colours and my brother was very happy about that. We tested it out, then didn't waste any time and just bought it.

After we bought it, we went to buy some food so we could eat it at home but after we got our food, I realized that that my dad was actually going back to the shop where we bought my brother's headphone. He ended up buying a headphone for meee!! ⊂(•‿•⊂ )*.✧

Thank you sooo muchh Mum and Daddd!!

Things I did During Quarantine

❝Things I did During Quarantine❞

Hey, so right now I'm gonna tell you the things I did during quarantine.

During quarantine, my teachers have us a whole bunch of tasks to do, but I guess I managed it quite well. My family and I also had to fast during quarantine. It wasn't that bad because we just stayed at home and didn't really do anything.

#1 ↠ Tasks
During the first week of quarantine, the teachers gave us like about 3 or more assignments in one day. These days they hardly give out any assignments, but once they do, it's quite complicated.
One of the most memorable assignments was when I was given a choice to either sing a traditional song from Indonesia or play the pianika. That time, I chose to play the pianika and my mum recorded me. After I kinda edited the video, I sent it to my art teacher.
A few days after that, I was scrolling through YouTube and found a video that was uploaded by my art teacher. In the thumbnail, it was my friend from another class. Me being the curious person I am, I clicked on the video and found the part of me playing the pianika halfway through the video. ┏(^0^)┛

#2 ↠ Fasting
Fasting started after a few weeks of quarantine. My sleep schedule is really messed up now. Honestly, I think I'm not that bad when being woken up. Once my mum tells me to wake up, then I'll just wake up. Fasting during quarantine really isn't that bad cuz as I said, we just stay at home 24/7. (ノ^_^)ノ

#3 ↠ When I'm Bored
When I'm bored during quarantine, I would either just sleep or watch videos on YouTube a.k.a watching Korean Dramas, Hehe. Is it just me or does the days go by so fast? I would just sit in front of my laptop for what seemed like just a few minutes and then it's literally time to have our iftar meal.

Oh yeah, one of my teachers have us a task to fill out a table of 21 days. Everyday, we have to read the Al-Qur'an at least once a day. Today is the 9th day.

Making A Video (Task) For School

A few days back, we were given a task to make a video about something like environmental pollution and other stuff. It was a group task and each group consisted of 5 people. We decided to do the project on Saturday.

On Saturday, A.K.A the day we were supposed to do the project, it was actually raining a little bit. We all got a little wet, but that's okay. We were kinda confused as to where we should film the video, it was then my idea to go to the market. Once we were basically in the market, I asked my friend to stay at the back with me while the others walked in front of us. While we were at the back, I decided to film the part about air pollution since there was a lot of transportation there that let out a lot of smoke, like motorbikes. I filmed while walking while my friend explained about air pollution.

After we filmed the part about air pollution and finally caught up with the others, they were basically shOok that we already finish 1 part, which is about air pollution. The video can basically be divided into 3 parts, that is air pollution, water pollution and soil pollution.

After the air pollution, we filmed the part about water pollution. I recorded my friend explaining about water pollution. Honestly, I felt like this part took the most time, cuz my friend that was explaining about water pollution kept laughing the whole time. I literally felt like I was babysitting a bunch of kids, not gonna lie.

After we did the water pollution part, we then filmed the last part, A.K.A the part about soil pollution. We decided to do a little drama, where I would film one of my friends throwing trash carelessly, not putting it in the trash can, then my other friend would go up to her and tell her that doing that isn't good and that it would cause soil pollution.

After we did those 3 main parts, we filmed the intro, where we would introduce ourselves and tell what we would be doing in the video, in this case was explaining about air, water and soil pollution.
After we filmed the intro, we filmed the outro, where we would say thanks for watching our video and so on.
Filming the intro and outro actually took some time, cuz some of us made mistakes, some ended up laughing even before I pressed the record button, I accidentally steeped on my friend's shoe, and I also made mistakes while talking like forgetting what to say, cuz I was basically the only one talking in both the intro and outro.

I had a lot of fun doing this project, and I'm sure the rest of my friends also had fun doing it. Fun fact, I was the one recording everything and editing the whole video, I even recorded the part where i was talking by myself, cuz I just didn't trust the others holding the camera hehe, but I don't mind filming and editing the whole thing, it was a lot of fun and I think I did a pretty good job as a cameraman and editor, hehe. But like, ngl, I feel like if I wasn't the one filming and editing everything, the video probably wouldn't be as good. 😂

Jumanji: The Next Level

Today, my mom, brother, cousin and I went to the mall to watch "Jumanji: The Next Level". The movie was very entertaining and I'm sure the others just loved it as much as I did.

The real part started after Spencer disappeared. The others (Bethany, Martha and Fridge) guessed that he went back in the Jumanji game and they decided to go and search for him inside the game. The thing is, everyone except Bethany was sucked inside the game. The game sucked everyone, including Spencer's grandpa and his friend, Milo, except Bethany. Bethany then wen to Alex's house and asked if he could fix the game thingy and they ended up being in the game, with Bethany being a horse, but they didn't meet the others yet.

Their goal was to take retrive jewel thingy from a man called Jurgen who stole it and face that jewel to the sun which then marks that they have finished their quest and be able to go back to the real world.

Once they were in the game (everyone except for Bethany and Alex), they were dropped of in a place where you can only see sand, sand and more sand. They walked North, and meeting an ostrich on the way. Spencer's grandpa somehow made it angry and the ostrich then brought it's friends which then chased them all, that they had to use buggy cars and jump off a cliff to lose them.

Not long after, they arrived at a small village that was surrounded by bad people and hyenas. They then went inside something kinda like a café, and that's when they found Spencer, trying to rob someone. They had their little reunion and then realized that they needed to find a purpley fruit. They then split up, half of them trying to get the fruit while the other few tried to steal camels.

Once they left the village, they headed to something that kinda looked like and island that had bridges on it. Once they stood on one of the bridges, out of nowhere, tons of monkey just ran over them and legit just tried to kill them all. Once they finally ran away from them, they then finally met Bethany and Alex.

They then changed their avatars by swimming in greenish water. Not long after that, Spencer's grandpa and his friend Milo were caught. Milo was a horse. Yes. A horse. They then went after them and ended up in somewhere kinda like a mini castle that was on the side of mountain. Long story short, they all had a massive fight, and just when Jurgen (the one that had the jewel thingy) was about to run away with a balloon thingy, Spencer came aboard and uses the Jumanji berry (the purpley fruit thingy that I told you about) and uses that to make Jurgen fall to his death. Cyclone (the horse) then realized that he has wings and he flew up, high in the sky with Spencer's grandpa (named Eddie). Eddie then took the jewel from Spencer and faced it to the sun. Fogs cleared up and they finally saw the sun.

Once they were all ready to go back to the real world, Milo decided that he wants to stay. They respected him and, well, they left him.
;-;

And that's it.
That's the story.

I really liked the movieeee like for realllll thooo it had its funny parts and also sad parts. I really, really, realllllyyyyyyy loved that moooooviiieeee it was dAeBAK!!!
